Widad Orfali

Widad was Artist, author, and musician who was born in Baghdad in 1929 to belong to the pioneer generation.In her artworks, Baghdad was her inspiration, as the Baghdadi atmosphere dominates all her paintings. However, after her visit to Al Andalus, she was amazed by the Andalusian culture and its decorative art, and tried to use those decorations when drawing Baghdad in a way that makes it look like the One Thousand and One Nights stories.

كانت العاصمه بغداد هي الملهم لها في اعمالها فكانت البيئة البغداديه تطغى على معظم لوحاتها وبعد زيارتها للاندلس سحرت بالحضارة الاندلوسيه وزخرفتها فوظفت الزخارف في لوحاتها ورسمت بغداد بطريقة تشبه لحد ما قصص الف ليله وليله
